Data & Account Deletion
This page is for the LanguCard app — developed by Yasin Enis. Android package name: app.langucard.mobile
There are two things you can do: delete only part of your data (your account stays) or delete your account together with all of its data. Both are done inside the app, without contacting us; the steps are below.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Deleting your whole account — Option 1: in the app (immediate)
This is the fastest route; it happens the moment you confirm, with no need to wait for a reply from us.
- 1Open the LanguCard app and sign in to your account.
- 2Go to Settings from the bottom menu.
- 3Open the Account section and scroll to "Delete account" at the bottom.
- 4Tap "Delete my account".
- 5In the confirmation dialog, type your email address exactly — this is there to prevent accidental deletion.
- 6Tap "Delete permanently". Your account and all of your data are deleted at that moment.
You can follow the same steps in a web browser: langucard.app/settings
Deleting your whole account — Option 2: by email (within 30 days)
If you cannot sign in (you forgot your password, you lost your device), you can send us a deletion request by email.
- 1Write to support@langucard.app from the email address registered to your account. We only act on a request when we can verify it came from the account owner.
- 2Put "Account deletion request" in the subject line.
- 3Your request is resolved within 30 days at the latest, and you receive a confirmation email.
Deleting data without deleting your account
If you do not want to give up your account entirely, you can delete just your data. There is no need to contact us — all of it happens inside the app, immediately.
Deleting all of your study data at once
- 1Open the LanguCard app and sign in to your account.
- 2Go to Settings from the bottom menu.
- 3Open Your data and scroll to "Erase study data" under the "Danger zone" heading.
- 4Tap "Erase my data".
- 5In the dialog you can first download your data as JSON or CSV if you want, then tap "Next".
- 6Type your email address exactly to confirm and tap "Erase my data".
Your workspaces, words, cards, categories, review history and study sessions are deleted. Your account, your sign-in details and your preferences stay — you can carry on using the app from scratch.
Deleting individual records
- A single word: tap the word in My Words and delete it from the dialog. Its review cards and history go with it.
- One meaning of a word: delete that meaning in the word dialog and the rest of the word stays.
- A category: delete it from the Categories page. A category is only a label; deleting it removes the label and leaves your words untouched.
- Your profile photo: use the "Remove" button in Settings → profile photo; the rest of your account stays.
What happens when an account is deleted?
When an account is deleted, all of the data below is removed from the database. "Immediately" means the second you confirm — there is no waiting period and no recovery window. After deletion your data only leaves a trace in short-lived technical server logs, and those are deleted automatically within an hour.
| Kind of data | What happens | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Email address, name and password hash are deleted | Immediately |
| Profile photo | The image you uploaded is removed from the database entirely | Immediately |
| Workspaces | Every workspace you created is deleted | Immediately |
| Words and cards | The words you added, the review cards generated from them and the example sentences are deleted | Immediately |
| Categories | Every category belonging to your workspaces is deleted | Immediately |
| Review history | The record of every answer you gave and your spaced-repetition schedule are deleted | Immediately |
| Study sessions | Session durations, scores and streak records are deleted | Immediately |
| Leaderboard entry | Your name and score disappear from the leaderboard entirely | Immediately |
| Session and device records | Your registered devices and session token hashes are deleted; you are signed out on every device | Immediately |
| Google connection | If you signed in with Google, the account link and session records are deleted | Immediately |
| Database backups | No point-in-time snapshots of the database are taken; deleted data does not survive in any recoverable copy | No extra retention |
| Server access logs | Technical logs kept by our infrastructure provider (request time, response code, error details) are deleted automatically | 1 hour at most |

Nothing of yours is kept after deletion — not as statistics, not as an "anonymised" copy, not on a marketing list. You can sign up again with the same email address, but your old data will not come back.
If you signed in with Google
Deleting your account also deletes the Google connection on our side. You can additionally revoke LanguCard's access to your Google account from the Google Account permissions ↗ page.
